"Like a lioness: powerful, caring, elegant and graceful"

The Lions Dip was created by me and named for the qualities it embodies strength, nurturing, elegance, and grace — qualities that I associate with a lioness. In fact, this dip has become a true highlight — whether served with bread, at a barbecue, or mixed with pasta. The combination of white beans, dates, and chili creates the perfect balance between savory and sweet.

What really sets this dip apart are the caramelized onions and chili threads, which not only stand out in flavor but also make it visually stunning. This dip is a perfect example of how outer and inner beauty can come together — it looks just as good as it tastes.

And the best part? The Lions Dip is easy to make and delivers a flavor experience that will impress your guests in no time.

PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION

The Lions Dip is incredibly versatile: I personally love it on crispy avocado toast, with potato wedges, or mixed into pasta with cherry tomatoes. It can be creatively used in so many dishes, adding a special kick to each one!

Pro tip: If you let it sit in the fridge overnight, the flavors develop even better. Be sure to add the toppings (caramelized onions, chives, and chili threads) the next day for the best result.

  1. Prepare the dip: Add all the dip ingredients – white beans, dates, crème fraîche, soy yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, nutritional yeast, and spices – to a blender and puree until you achieve a wonderfully creamy consistency. The dip should be velvety and well-seasoned – feel free to adjust with salt and chili to your preferred taste.
  2. Caramelize the onions: Slice the red onion into thin rings. Heat some olive oil in a pan and sauté the onions over medium heat until golden brown. Add the brown sugar and continue to cook for about 2 minutes until the onions are fully caramelized. Now add the balsamic vinegar and cook everything until the liquid has mostly evaporated. This will give you the perfect sweet-sour flavor.
  3. Assemble: Spread the dip evenly on a plate and place the caramelized onions in the center. Sprinkle with fresh chives, drizzle a little olive oil on top, and garnish with chili threads – done. Now it’s time to enjoy!
