These energy balls are made in just a few minutes and taste like Snickers – only healthier, plant-based, and even better!
The base of these little power snacks is dates. Naturally sweet, rich in fiber, they promote digestion and provide valuable minerals like potassium and magnesium. Combined with dark chocolate with 81% cocoa, which is packed with antioxidants and offers a slightly bitter note that perfectly contrasts the natural sweetness of the dates, the result is a harmonious balance of sweetness and a hint of bitterness.
I often prepare them as a snack prep for the week – that way, I always have a nutritious treat on hand for between meals. If you want to bring joy to someone, these homemade treats also make the perfect small gift.
PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION
If you like it even more intense, you can briefly dip the balls into melted dark chocolate after shaping them and let them set – this way, you'll get a crunchy shell and even more chocolatey goodness!
PREPARATION
- Prepare ingredients: Place all the ingredients in a blender or food processor.
- Blend: Blend the mixture until it forms a smooth, slightly sticky dough.
- Shape: Roll about 12 small balls with your hands. If the mixture is too soft, place it in the fridge for a while.
- Chill:
Let the energy balls rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to firm up. Then, they’re ready to enjoy – the perfect, healthy Snickers alternative.
